seasons

Sometimes you have to just look a little harder....

As my practice relies on using fresh flora and fauna to create my work, the seasons are of course a pivotal determining factor in my available resources.

In Summer I am spoilt for choice and I am lucky enough to have a large garden which has become my main source of the flowers I use.

In the winter,  I am still able to find beatiful forms in branches and evergreens and living in the warmer climate of the South of England I manage to find little weeds and bedding plants still managing to flower.  So this is my gem of a plant! My Winter flowering clematis which is vigorous and generous with its incredible abundance of flowers, winding stems and stamens and beautifully structured leaves.
